This little dance from almost three years ago, embodies somethings that I have been feeling this week. What strikes me is the blurriness of the recording even though at the time my phone camera was pretty up to date. What else that strikes me is that I recall the sense(s) that came to me dancing on this particular day: freedom, anonymity, pause, power, sadness, confusion, direction, flow, tension, despair, grasping, searching/exploration. I also recall being moved by the music-- not sure it comes through here, in the same way that it felt from the inside but anyway, thought I would post it up instead of talking about politics. Come to think about it, my body is politics- remove your (Trump and his administration) dirty politics from my body. Here is my body and spirit being moved by something.

Noguchi Taiso has a great influence on my dancing and in my everyday life. I am happy to share its many benefits to all those that come to my classes. These classes are based on my time spent training with teachers and butoh dancers Mari Osanai and Imre Thormann.
Noguchi Taiso is not just for dancers, it welcomes all those interested in utilizing the weight of their bones, viscera, blood, and existence (thoughts, emotion, memories, hopes, desires, gratitude, regrets, etc) while cultivating a deeper relationship to the Earth we all call home. The more weight you give to the Earth the more you receive in return.
